Christmas time

Christmas was pretty mellow this year. You would think we would be going crazy with new babies and all but we kept it super simple letting people know we were home and that they could stop by and enjoy the babies anytime. Baby Bodie wasn't quite himself yet and truly we just enjoyed the morning with a good cup of coffee, TONS of opening of gifts for the babies, and some Christmas music. Anyone who knows me knows my tree was down, ornaments put away, and the room was clutter free by the next morning. Old habits die hard! Although, our exterior X-mas lights were just relieved of their duties last week! We thought they might look good for Easter! The kids were spoiled beyond words and even Lucy had one heck of a ham bone to bite into. All in all it was a great holiday and I cannot tell you how great it was to spend it as parents with our babies!

December. . .Crazy December!!!

We had growing babies for sure!!! Smiles were pooring from Annelise and Bodie learned to laugh out loud. We had the best time making them laugh and smile often cracking ourselves up as well. The things grown men and women will do to get a baby to grin!! Bodie had a rough month due to an ear infection he had right after Thanksgiving. The antibiotic did some damage and the little guy then came down with a violent case of thrush. All this led to reflux symptoms and eventually a scope and MRI. I am happy to report that he is healthy as can be and will only know he didn't feel well by the hospitals "Get Well" card and wrist band. Annelise was a great cheerleader and perhaps pom poms are in her future! All in all they both grew and ended the year around 10 lbs. with newly forming rolls on those adorable thighs!

More Friends and Family!

We actually had many more visitors beforeThanksgiving but with two arms full of babies it leaves me with no arms for a camera. Most of the pictures we do get are sent to us from friends or when we are in a group setting and more able to get out the camera. With twins you rarely have a free hand! We would much rather our arms be too full than empty. All the grandparents really were here on a regular basis and the babies were loved on a ton!

Friends and family

When the babies finally hit their original due date of Oct. 11th we were finally able to have some interaction with more people. Friends and family loved on the babies a ton! The twins were a very special addition to both sides of our family and everyone showered them with attention and numerous hugs and kisses! We use to think we were so lucky to have such great family and friends and now we know we are! We sincerely appreciated every thought and prayer!

Changing faces

My how they grow!They started to smile and have their own distinct personalities. Annelise was a great sleeper right away and Bodie thought he might be missing something if he were to fall asleep. Both babies were almost 8 lbs. by early November. Doesn't seem huge but that was double their smallest weights. They also began to understand that their was another baby around. It's been so much fun watching them find each other. It began like such a mystery and has really turned into a pint sized friendship.

Adorable!!!

The first few weeks were so much fun! The babies slept a lot and were soooo small!!! The clothes were so tiny you almost couldn't believe they would fit. I see these pictures now and just can't believe they were under 5 lbs. even when they came home from the hospital. Both babies lost 10 oz. at first but have been working hard to gain it all back and then some ever since! As the days passed we just continued to be amazed at how much they had blessed our lives.

Fast forward!

They were so itty bitty but we could see that they would be the best of friends. After a long 16 day stay in the NICU they were ready for home. The only question was were we? We were so blessed with an AMAZING nursing staff and a wonderful Pediatrician that our babies just thrived. They had lots of visitors and well wishers to welcome them into this world. Time has been flying by so fast ever since!
